Tina Turner‘s son Craig has died in an apparent suicide, aged 59.
Craig Turner, who was born on August 20, 1958, was the son of Turner and saxophonist Raymond Hill. He was adopted by Ike Turner after he and Tina married in 1962. The couple later divorced in 1978.
The Los Angeles County Coroner confirmed to E! News that Craig Turner died yesterday (July 3) from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead after being discovered by police in his residence in Studio City, California.
Variety reports that Craig Turner worked as a real estate agent in the San Fernando Valley.
According to his profile on Rodeo Realty, Craig was a member of the elite realtor organisation the National Association of Realtors and the California Association of Realtors.
Tina Turner was in Paris at the time of Craig’s death, with the singer having attended the Giorgio Armani Privé Haute Couture fashion show. She has yet to make a pubic statement following the news of her son’s passing.
